OutageMath answers one question well: how long will a power station run the things you care about?

Manufacturers publish capacity and output figures, but turning those into “will this keep my fridge and CPAP going overnight?” takes math most people don't want to do in the middle of an outage. So we built calculators that do it, and a database of 48 models to run them against.

How we work

• We calculate. We don't claim to lab-test. Our numbers come from published specifications and formulas we publish in full.
• We cite sources. Every model page links to the manufacturer documents its specs came from, and we note when official sources disagree.
• We include every model, whether or not we earn anything from it. Rankings and “best fit” results come from the specs only.
• We fix mistakes. Spot an error or an outdated spec? Email hello@outagemath.com.

How we use AI

AI helps us write code, gather specs and draft text. We're now checking the specs against their sources by hand and rewriting the AI-drafted text, page by page. The details are on How we use AI.
