Sizes on the market

Energy per pound, by brand

Median battery watt-hours per pound for each brand's models on sale. Higher means more runtime for the weight you carry.

Most energy-dense models on sale

  1. BLUETTI Elite 300: 52 Wh/lb (3,014 Wh, 58 lb)
  2. Jackery Explorer 2000 v2: 51.7 Wh/lb (2,042 Wh, 39.5 lb)
  3. Anker SOLIX C2000 Gen 2: 49.1 Wh/lb (2,048 Wh, 41.7 lb)
  4. Jackery Explorer 1500 v2: 48 Wh/lb (1,536 Wh, 32 lb)
  5. EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max: 45.7 Wh/lb (2,048 Wh, 44.8 lb)

Surge ratings

79% of models on sale publish a surge (peak) rating. Where published, the median surge rating is 2× the continuous output. Surge matters for starting fridges, pumps and air conditioners; see running vs starting watts.

Solar charging speed

Median maximum solar input: 800 W. At that maximum, and with panels delivering 75% of their rating, the median model needs 2.3 hours of good sun to charge from empty.

Fastest to refill from solar (at maximum input)

  1. EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus: 1.4 hours (1,000 W max input, 1,024 Wh)
  2. BLUETTI Elite 100 V2: 1.4 hours (1,000 W max input, 1,024 Wh)
  3. Goal Zero Yeti 1000: 1.5 hours (900 W max input, 998 Wh)
  4. DJI Power 2000: 1.5 hours (1,800 W max input, 2,048 Wh)
  5. BLUETTI Apex 300: 1.5 hours (2,400 W max input, 2,765 Wh)

UPS and backup features

33 of 34 models on sale list a UPS or EPS switchover time; the median is 15 ms. 5 offer 240 V output, which some well pumps and home circuits need, and 16 accept extra batteries.

Warranty and cycle life

WarrantyModels on sale
5 years33

Cycle-life claims aren't directly comparable. Of 32 models on sale with a claim, 5 count cycles until the battery falls to 80% of its capacity, 9 until it falls to 70%, and for 18 the end point isn't stated in the manufacturer's sources. "4,000 cycles to 70%" describes more wear than "4,000 cycles to 80%".
